Vuba was thrilled to be specified on this incredible development in the heart of Virgina Waters, Surrey.

The existing paving was removed, and replaced with a macdam sub-base and 18mm of Carthage Resin Bound Surfacing from the Vuba Wonders of the World Range of Aggregates. 

The Wonders of the World Range is 24 colours, exclusive to Vuba, which have been sourced from throughout the world and processed to be compatible with resin bound surfacing. Each aggregate is tested indepedently for a variety of physical properties, including Abrasion Resistance, Particle Density and Water Absorption. 

The final blend is then tested in accordance with British Standard BS EN 12390 - 3: 2009, an example you can see here. 



Unlike standard resin bound surfacing, blends from the Wonders of the World range will typically contain 5 different size gradings of aggregate. 0.4-0.7mm, 1-3mm, 2-4mm, 2-5mm and 4-6mm all combine to create excellent compaction, and subsequently strength and resistance to stone loosening. 



All of the aggregate colours within the blend are bound in our Valtex Aliphatic Resin Binder Kit. Valtex is produced in East Yorkshire, and has been tested indepedently for Flexural, Tensile and Shore D Hardness - results available upon request. You can view our Valtex Technical Datasheet here. 



Carthage (Main Colour) has become increasingly popular in late 2020 and early 2021. The mix of Grey and Mediterranean Cream (sourced from El Coto Mountain in Spain) has attracted a lot of attention for its modern look, and entirely unique appearance in the world of resin bound surfacing. The border is Ocean Grey, a blend of dark quartz which makes an excellent accompaniment to the main area. 



The unique blend of sizes within the Wonders of the World range creates superior compaction and improved strength. This installation was expertly installed by Resway Surfacing.
